Prospective Families

1. Complete the application form

The process begins with our online application. You can submit it at any point; there is no deadline that closes the door. The form asks for basic information about your child and your family, so we know who you are when enrollment conversations begin.

2. Attend our Introduction to OCC

Next, families register to attend a one-hour “Introduction to Montessori and OCC” information session. These sessions are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30am, and the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm.

3. School Year Enrollment

School-year enrollment opens January 15 for current families and alumni, then February 1 for those on the waiting list, and March 1 to the public. Contracts and financial-aid information are emailed to families offered a spot. Enrollment is complete once OCC receives a signed contract and all applicable fees. Most fall spots go to children under 3. 5 so they can stay through the full cycle.

4. Classroom Placement

At your visit, you can observe classrooms and meet staff. We discuss enrollment options together, weighing your child's needs with the space available. Programs have chronological age overlaps, so placement centers on the child's individual development. For Primary, toilet training is strongly recommended though not mandatory.

Summer Sessions

Summer session dates, tuition, and fees are published in late winter; registration begins February 1. Sessions enroll by the week and are open to current families first. Any remaining spots go to OCC alumni finishing Kindergarten through 2nd Grade. We do not typically enroll new Primary students in summer, though occasionally a Toddler starting in fall may join.

5. Tuition and Fees

OCC is a non-profit tuition-based school. Registration fees and tuition fund daily operations. Tuition covers morning snacks for all students, catered lunch for full-day Primary students and all Toddlers, and afternoon snacks for those in after-school care. For current tuition rates and fee amounts, please ask the office.

What this looks like in practice

The path to enrollment has a steady rhythm. You apply online, attend an information session, then observe a classroom at work. Sessions run once a month, in the early morning or evening. During observation you sit quietly and watch children choose materials, carry a tray, and return it to the shelf. After that, contracts go out by email with enrollment and financial-aid details.

A slow, careful application process has a purpose. When you sit in a classroom before enrolling, you see how children move through their morning without hurry. That calm carries home. A child who chooses work and finishes it, who puts things back, is building order and concentration you will notice at the dinner table. The visits let you decide if this pace fits your family.
