OCC is a private, non-profit corporation governed by a board of parent volunteers and community members. It works to maintain a balanced budget. The majority of funding goes directly into classrooms, supporting salaries and benefits. That means students learn from well-supported, highly educated guides. Support also reaches families through tuition assistance, state and federal funding, and contributions from local programs and donors.
The Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program lets eligible businesses receive tax credits for contributions to a Scholarship Organization, an Educational Improvement Organization, or a Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Organization. OCC has prepared a guide for local businesses and friends who want to support the school through EITC. The guide explains the program and how to take part.
Donations through the EITC program earn a 90% state tax credit, up to $200,000; the remaining 10% may be deducted as a charitable gift. All of it goes to the OCC financial aid fund.
