Infants beginning around six months through 15 months
The Nido is a quiet room for infants from about six months to fifteen months. Soft lighting and natural materials fill the space. Babies move freely and explore at their own pace. Teachers give individualized care that follows each child's rhythm.
children 15 months to three years old
Toddler rooms are arranged for movement and order. Children practice caring for themselves and the room. Two teachers stay with nine to ten children, or three with thirteen to fifteen. The day follows each child's developmental needs.
children three years old to Kindergarten
Primary is a three-year cycle for children from three to Kindergarten. A room holds two teachers and fourteen to eighteen students. The third year brings the Bank Game, the Bead Cabinet, the Farm, and Sewing Baskets. Families are encouraged to complete the full cycle.
Children with a minimum of one year of Montessori experience who are also 4.10 years of age by September 1
Kindergarten at OCC happens inside the Primary classroom, licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. It is the third year of the Montessori cycle. Placement for the following year is decided by each child's developmental progress.
Before and After School Programming covers the hours outside the regular school day. It is open only to families already enrolled, and spots go on a first-come basis. Ask the office about current availability.
Summer sessions run by the week and are open to current families first. Any remaining spots go to OCC alumni finishing Kindergarten through second grade. New Primary students are not typically enrolled in summer. Sometimes a new Toddler starting in fall can join.
